26th May 2009 - Boltons Green Campground - Southwest National Park

They just get better and better. Located at the southern most tip of Australia, are four pristine camping areas. Well worth the drive along a dirt road to these camping sites that are located virtually on the shoreline. At Gilhams Beach campground there is enough room for several big rigs. Finns Beach and Cockle Creek Campgrounds are a bit uneven and slippery when we looked but suitable if other sites occupied. Boltons Green Campground we found to be the pick of the bunch. There is one large site suitable for several big rigs. The other sites are all car based camping. All have pristine beaches and Cockle Creek is crystal clear. National Park fees apply for Boltons Green Campground and a max stay of 30 days is enforced at all campgrounds. All sites have a long drop toilet, and limited (5 Li. pp / p day) tank water is available at Boltons Campground. Although stated in some camping books that a 5 / 10 Tonne limit applies to the bridges. The sign clearly states “BRIDGE LOAD LIMIT 20 TONNES GROSS”
